I am a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Environmental and Molecular Toxicology program at Oregon State University. Before coming to Oregon State, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences at The Ohio State University where I had the opportunity to research potential small molecule therapeutics for treating organophosphate poisoning. Since joining the Tilton laboratory at Oregon State, I have primarily focused on method development for the lab. This includes expanding upon the lab’s existing cell culture models to incorporate cell signaling between different cell types and establishing protocols for analyzing cells using flow cytometry. Additionally, I have tested chemicals from wildfire smoke to investigate their mechanisms of toxicity.
