Research
Current research activities include field studies to examine the impact of pesticide use on air and water quality, studies designed to investigate human and wildlife exposure as a result of pesticide use in both agricultural and urban settings, studies which investigate how sub-lethal exposures effect fitness and survival, and studies that may assist in the development of technologies that mitigate adverse human and environmental impacts. Collaborative research investigates impacts of chemical use on individuals, populations, and ecosystems.

Outreach
As a member of Cooperative Extension, efforts are focused on education and training of pesticide users, health care, regulatory agency, Extension personnel, and members of the community interested in the impact of pesticides and other xenobiotics on human health and the environment. A major goal of research and Extension Programs is risk reduction that leads to improved human health and environmental protection, while allowing for the continued use of beneficial pesticides in an integrated approach to pest management. Duties include Co-Principle Investigator for the National Pesticide Information Center and Extension Toxicology Network (Extoxnet) cooperator. Participate in the OSU Integrated Plant Protection Center in cooperation with the USDA Western Region Integrated Pest Management Center.
